Deceased Name: Arthur S. Edelstein Arthur S. Edelstein, 86, Sun City, Ariz., formerly of
Superior, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, in Sun City. He was born July 26, 1910, in Superior, and had lived in
Superior most of his life. He retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad
after 35 years of service as a conductor and brakeman. He was also a former
owner of the Saratoga Hotel in Superior. He was a member of the Elks, Masonic lodge and Aad Temple
Shrine. He was preceded in death by a son, Roy L. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Susan
Edelstein of North Wales, Pa., Linda Edelstein of Somerset, N.J., and Patti
(Larry) Pedersen of Universal City, Texas; six grandchildren; a sister,
Dorothy Sinykin of Madison, Wis.; a brother, Alvin Edelstein of Virginia; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Downs Funeral Home in
Superior with Phil Sher officiating. Burial will be in Superior Hebrew
Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry, Mark and Lisa Pedersen, and Michael, Roy
and Amy Kushner. Should friends desire, Memorials may be made to Interfaith
Services Inc. of Sun City, P.O. Box 1796, Sun City, AZ 85372. Duluth News-Tribune (MN) Date: February 28, 1997 Ruth Lurye Edelstein died suddenly Friday, Jan. 9, 1998,
in San Antonio, Texas. She was born Jan. 1, 1915, in Superior and was a lifetime
Superior resident before moving to Sun City, Ariz., in 1976. On May 7, 1939,
she married Arthur S. Edelstein and they celebrated their 50th anniversary in
1989. She was a longtime member of Temple Sisterhoods, ORT, and
was a life member of Hadassah. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, and a
son, Roy. She is survived by her daughters, Patti (Larry) Pedersen
of Universal City, Texas, Susan Edelstein of North Wales, Pa. and Linda
Edelstein of Somerset, N.J.; six grandchildren; a sister, Connie Grossmn of
Duluth; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Downs Funeral Home with
Rabbi Amy Bernstein officiating. Interment in the Superior Hebrew Cemetery
following the service. Pallbearers will be Larry Pedersen, Lisa Pedersen, Roy
Kushner, Amy Kushner, Michael Kushner and Harold Grossmn. Memorial
contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of
